On Thursday the State Fire Commissioner released the awards amounts of the 2013-2014 State Grants and the L & L Fire Company was chosen to receive the amount of $12,647.24 which we be used to pay on the loan we had to take out to put a new roof on the firehouse this past year.

Last evening L & L attended the Hillclimb Parade in Weatherly. We attended with all 4 trucks with 8 members on them. The tanker won a trophy which is given out to a vehicle which the borough manager gives out each year.

It took only about 3 months but the firehouse has a new roof which was badly needed. A special thanks goes out to all that helped put this on but especially to Joesph Barna Construction, Murphy Lumber and all the other labors which helped install this in a timely manner.

This weekend some of the members helped man 3 stands at Eurana Park for Weatherly's 150 birthday. We had a food stand which sold veggie boats, halupkie, chilli, water and peanut butter pie which was ran by the ladies and the big six wheel and dime pitch was ran by the men.

This weekend was our biggest fundraiser of the year and it was a great success. Thanks to all of the people and businesses who donated their time, money, prizes and fireworks. The weekend began with a ceremony to homor our veterans and firefighters.
The L & L Fire Company attended the White Haven parade last evening with 1932, 1941, and 1971 with 7 members. The evening started off pretty wet and judging before the parade washed out so they judged all apparatus in front of White Haven's station.
On Saturday the fire company held its first of two boot drives in front of the L & L Fire Company. It was a big success and we had plenty of help. There was a total of 9 members who participated in this event which ran for 8 hours and we earned approximately $ 750.00.
