Fire Police To Shutdown North Lehigh Gorge Drive

At approximately 1815 hours Fire District 19 was requested to shutdown North Lehigh Gorge Drive for police related activity. Shortly after dispatch 1901 & 1902 went responding along with 1981. 1955 went directly to the scene to provide lighting. 1941 went to intersection of Buck Mountain along with 5 Fire Police and 1981 and 1904 shutdown the road at intersection of Lakeview Drive. Foster Township Fire police shutdown the intersection of Lehigh Gorge Drive and 940. In Total district 19 had 10 firefighters who remained at the intersection for 4 hours. We used e flares, flares, cones and barricades to shutdown the roadway. We remained on scene for 4 hours until PSP Finished there police investigation.

Fire District 19 was dispatched to Holiday Pocono in Kidder Township for our rehab unit. 1941 and 1975 went responding with a crew of 4 firefighters to provide rehab for the fire. Assisting Units t at the fire were Fire District 16,17,22,12 and stations 41 and 42 from Monroe County.

Fire District 19 was requested to setup a Landing Zone on Decker Lane by 665 for an EMS call requiring a flight. 1911 went responding with in 6 minutes of dispatch. 1911 arrived on scene and setup a landing zone of 100 by 100 foot area with 4 cones and 1901 was the landing zone officer.

At 1837 pm Fire District 19, 20 and Mahoning Valley EMS and Lehighton ALS was dispatched for a motorcycle accident versus a deer with an injury. Shortly after dispatch 1901 and 1902 went responding and a few minutes after that 1955 went responding.

At 1512 hours District 19 & Medic 11 were dispatched to area of Penn Haven for a possible near drowning. Shortly after dispatch 1901 & 1902 went responding. 1901 went directly to the scene while 1955 responded with a crew of 5 and 1941 responded with a crew of 2.

At 1057 am Fire District 19 was dispatched to shutdown Hudson Drive and Brekman Drive. Fire District 20 was dispatched to the above address with confirmed entrapment. While district 20 units were Enroute 2001 requested district 21 & 13 for LZ and Hazle Township for extra manpower to the scene.

Fire Districts 19 & 20 along with forestry were dispatched to North Stagecoach Road for a controlled burn which got out of control. 1901 went responding shortly after dispatch. Within minutes of dispatch 2041, 2031 along with 1941 and 1932 all went responding.

At 548 AM Fire District 19 Fire Police along District 12 & 22 Fire Police were requested to assist District 17 to shutdown the 534 eastbound on ramp to I-80. Fire district19 responded with 1902, 1981, 1955 & 1941 along with 2281& 2282 and a fire police officer from district12.

Fire District 19, 11 and Lehighton ALS were dispatched to Glenn Onoko for 2 hikers reported to be lost and unable to find there way back to the bottom parking lot. 1101 was the first to arrive at the Glenn Parking area and assumed command.

Fire District 19, 20 and Victor 12(Forestry) were dispatched to Forest Creek Road for a brush fire. 1901 went responding to the scene and was the first on scene. The cause of fire was determined to be accidental it started by a spark from people welding a truck in a dry grass field.

While we were at the station partaking in the first class of Module 2 of the essentials class we were dispatched to assist Medic 11 for a cardiac arrest in Lausanne township on North Stagecoach Road. Within 2 minutes of dispatch 1955 was responding with a truck full of officers.

Fire district 19 tanker was requested by 2002 to assist at a brush fire before any apparatus arrived on scene. Once 2001 arrived on location he found a 50 by 100 foot area of woods on fire and cancelled 1932 before they went responding.
